What are you going to use it for / what are you watching / why do you need online storage / how long do you want to record for etc. If that all sounds like gibberish, consider getting the basic tier of Angelcam or something. Or possibly an Android one, if that's your skillset. Or a cheap Windows box (even cheap Windows tablet or dirt cheap nettop-style box) with ContaCam/iSpy/Blue Iris. There's AWS/GCP/etc free tier to monitor the RTP stream or if your camera has local storage (or if your router can act as NAS if you stick a flash drive in it) syncing from that storage to S3/Dropbox/whatever, or put a pi zero (w) locally that'll take the footage and push it to Dropbox or whatever.

What level of recording and retention do you require, and by "cloud storage", have you considered using email as effectively cloud storage? Because if you just need recording and notification on motion detection, just having it log onto Gmail and send it to you might be an option.Īlso, depending on your skillset there's always using another device for the brains or for intermediate storage. If it has cloud functionality, it's not really your camera, it's theirs, with varying degrees of them. Do be aware of the security implications of plugging cheap-ass camera with internet access into (possibly) your network.
